Here are some pics from my hike up AB mountain this week. It was an amazing day and I couldn't let it go without doing something with it.
After work I booked it up the mountain. In my opinion this is the best view from any hike in Skagway. It never gets old! Wish I could bring my pops up here along with a lot of other people, my mom, sis, bro and fam, g-ma, troy dog, Lyss, Nicole, Erb, and lots of other peeps. (Daniel had to work late this night so he missed out, but he will def make it up there). Hopefully this will inspire you to come visit me and do some hiking!
This pic makes me happy
This was my happiest moment of the week. Six days of working just isn't worth it to me. Some times I wish I didn't have to deal with the demands of this world! But I'm grateful to be here despite the unpleasant and unfair things of life.

Lost Lake

This sign should say, '1.2 miles of
elevation gain.'
After walking on this icy river for a while I
checked the depth of it with a large stick. Turns
out it was well over my head.
On my day off I decided to venture out to the lost lake hike. Since Daniel was gone I decided to take Sheeba, to hopefully wear her out so she wouldn't pester me the rest of the day. It was a way nice drive out to dyea and through some forest. But finally I found the trail-head. It was a pretty short hike but the entire hike is straight up. Theirs not much for flat sections (except the first 10 feet).
There were a lot of beautiful views. I climbed a tree to get a feel for where I was. Turned out to be a sweet pic op.

I had a lot of fun while Daniel was gone this week. Sorry Dan!

Last week I went out to the ore dock to pick up our crab pot before all the cruise ships start coming in. On my way out there I heard a loud exhaling sound, I looked up and saw the back of a whale just a little ways off the dock. I was not expecting to see a whale!
I saw a whale in these waters! It looked like a
humpback from what I could see. I waited an
hour or so but I never saw him pop up again.
It was a priceless moment. The water was still, the sun was shining, it was a comfortable 60 degrees. There was something about it. One of those moments you have to enjoy. So I stayed out there by myself for a little over an hour. It was just like that feeling when you go into the celestial room and don't want to leave because its so peaceful!! I couldn't leave. It has been a long winter, and this moment on the dock was a moment where for the first time I was able to just breath and think about things. It was such a pleasant moment.
It's so nice to be back here! Somehow this place enriches and brings life to my soul. While out there I was remembering the past few months and everything that has happened. I am so grateful to be able to be here. I am so grateful for Heavenly Fathers hand in my life. I am grateful for the joy I find in my life because of him. I know he is aware of me and of all his children. Not a hair of a child's head falls without him knowing. I love this opportunity to live on earth and to enjoy gods creations and to experience life with all its stresses and excitements. That's what makes life worth living!
Okay sorry for taking so long since our last post! We've been busy.
Part of the Denver Glacier trail
Daniel being translated
As for Daniel and my most recent adventures, we were able to hike out to the Denver glacier a week in a half ago. It was a pretty long expedition. 5 miles out on the railroad to get to the trail head, then another 2 in a half to see the glacier. The actual hike was mostly covered in snow. So it got interesting. Two miles in we were pretty wet. But the trail was beautiful where it was exposed!! Dense forest, it is just so soothing to the soul!! I can't get enough of it! Anyways, the snow got up to our waist. We were sinking in every other step. It was getting pretty cold despite the warm sun shining on us. We turned back a little ways into the deep stuff. We were able to see a little bit of the glacier but I was hoping to be able to hike up on it. That wasn't going to happen! Not by a long shot!
We had a good time. On to the next...
